Election Dates and Eligibility

  1. Who is eligible to use this online ballot marking tool?
    • Any uniformed service member Or family member,
    • U.S. citizens living outside the United States, and
    • An elector requesting an emergency replacement ballot because:
      • The elector or a member of the elector’s immediate family is or will be confined to a hospital or place of residence on election day, or
      • The elector is unable to vote in person because of an emergency condition, such as a natural disaster, arising after the seventh day before the election.

  3. When can I vote in this election?
    You can access your ballot on September 21, 2018. The site will be available until 7:00 PM Mountain Time on Election Day, November 6, 2018.
  4. How can I get my ballot in Spanish?
    There are currently 4 counties in Colorado that are required by federal law to provide ballots and voting information in both English and Spanish. Those counties are:
    • Costilla
    • Denver
    • Conejos
    • Saguache
    If you need language assistance and are a resident of another county, please contact your County Election office.

Using the Online Ballot Marking System

  1. I can't log in. What should I do?
    Make sure that you are entering all your information as instructed.
    • Select your Date of Birth using the dropdown menus.
    • Enter only one of either:
      • The last four digits of your Social Security Number OR
      • Your Colorado Driver's License Number.
    • If you are entering a driver’s license number, enter it with no dashes or spaces. Contact your County Election office for further assistance.
  2. How do I mark my ballot online?
    Please review the voting instructions for detailed instructions on how to log in and mark your ballot. Contact your County Election office for further assistance.
  3. Once I am done marking my ballot online, am I done with the voting process?
    No. Once you mark your ballot online, you have three options for returning your voted ballot and your signed Affidavit and Coversheet to the County Election office.
    1. Return by email.
    2. Return by fax.
    3. Return by mail.

  4. How do I print my ballot?
    After you have confirmed your selections on the ballot summary page, you will be shown a printable ballot.
    • Select the Download and Print My Ballot button to print your ballot.
    • Check to make sure your printer is plugged in and turned on, and has paper and ink.

    • Offering voters the option to mark their ballot online.
    • Ensuring that selections made for a candidate are clear.
    • Preventing overvoting.
    • Making ballot review available.
    • Enabling the voter to mark their ballot in privacy.
  2. How does this online process help me if I am vision impaired?
    The system has been designed to work with screen-reading utilities such as:
    • JAWS
    • Window Eyes
    • On-screen magnifiers and keyboards.
    Using the contrast settings on your computer or monitor, you can increase or decrease the contrast settings to improve page visibility.
  3. What web browsers are compatible with the election software?
    • Internet Explorer
    • Firefox
    • Google Chrome
    • Safari
    These are all compatible with the election software, free and available for download online. For best results, please ensure that your Internet browser is up to date.
